Update from the Steering Committee – 2021 CUGC Events

by Steve Elgan Sarah Vogt

Thank you for staying connected with CUGC throughout 2020!

Despite 2021 getting off to a bit of a rocky start, we at CUGC are starting the new year off with gratitude – for you. The pandemic forced us to stop meeting in person and move our local group and XL events online, taking away a mainstay of our community. But you showed up and turned a challenge into an opportunity. You joined meetings across the country, across the globe even, broadening your community and exercising further proof that CUGC is resilient, kind, and supportive.

Thus, we start 2021 grateful and hopeful for more good times to come. While we’re continuing with virtual events for now, we look forward to the day that we see your smiling faces in person again, as soon as it’s safe for everyone to be together again.

We’ve got a lot of exciting virtual events planned throughout the year to continue to keep us connected, so take a look at what’s to come and mark your calendars:

🎤 2021 XL Events

Like our CUGC To Go local meetings, our XL events will continue virtually for now. As with last year, we’ll keep a little fun mixed in with the technical sessions.

Steve Greenberg, Sarah Steinhoff & Carl Webster

🤓 New! CUGC Geek Speak

Introducing CUGC Geek Speak – a new webinar format to encourage more freeform discussion between our members and Citrix experts. CTP and CTA panelists will take your questions on relevant topics throughout the year.

First up: Working from Home 2021 Edition. Now that most of us have been working from home or supporting a remote workforce for almost a year, it’s time to re-evaluate and refine our WFH setups with tips from some seasoned pros.

Featuring: Esther Barthel, Steve Greenberg, Shane Kleinert, Mike Nelson, & Chris Rogers

🎓 Connect, User Share & AMA Webinars

Our CUGC Connect, User Share and Ask Me Anything webinars will continue throughout the year –bringing you more great content!

Connects provide the latest tech updates from our sponsors, helping you solve problems and find new solutions to work better.

User Shares come directly from our members and are a great way for community members to share their knowledge through case studies and presentations.

Our Ask Me Anything series puts panelists from our Global Sponsors in the hot seat to answer your questions on the fly.

🏆CUGCYs & Stephanie Roper Community Award

Last, but far from least, it’s almost time to announce our CUGCY awards for our top community contributors and local groups of 2020. Even though last year was tough, our local groups, blog writers and presenters were steadfast. So stay tuned for the CUGCY announcements in February!

Stephanie Roper Community Award

It’s also time to recognize the CUGC member who went above and beyond last year. Who represents CUGC to you? Who keeps you motivated?

We’re taking your nominations for the Stephanie Roper Community Award through January 31.
