Steering Committee Member and Officer Changes for 2020

by Steve Elgan, CTA, Omaha CUGC Leader, CUGC Steering Committee President

Hello Fellow CUGC Members,

A new year brings new beginnings. We’d like to announce a few changes to the members and officers for your Steering Committee. The Steering Committee is comprised of eight customer volunteers, two Citrix representatives, and the Managing Director of CUGC. Additionally, we have an advisor member from the United Kingdom.

As previously announced on social media, our 2019 Steering Committee President, Tobias Kreidl, has retired from his position at Northern Arizona University. Tobias needs no introduction. His many contributions to the Citrix community are second to none. Tobias has served as a member of CUGC since its inception in 2015, as a Steering Committee member since 2016, Steering Committee Vice President in 2017 and 2018, and then as Steering Committee President in 2019. Separate from that, Tobias has authored dozens of blog posts and articles and has contributed tens of thousands of forum posts for CUGC and Citrix. Those of us on the Steering Committee are forever grateful for having the opportunity to work alongside Tobias and help CUGC achieve its mission. Thank you, Tobias, for your service to our great community!

The Steering Committee would like to welcome Steve Breitenstein to the committee! Steve has served as a local leader for the Louisville chapter for 2 years, won a CUGCY Award in 2018 for Top Tweets, has helped plan two Midwest XL meetings, and currently works as an IT Manager for Anthem, Inc.

In late January, the Steering Committee held elections for officers. I’m proud to announce that Sarah Vogt has been elected as Vice President for the committee! Sarah has served as a CUGC Women in Tech mentor since 2017, as a Steering Committee member since 2017, and a local Orlando leader since 2017. Sarah currently works as a Citrix Infrastructure Engineer for the Greenberg Traurig law firm. Thank you, Sarah, for your ongoing service to our community!

Lastly, the Steering Committee has elected me as President. I’m incredibly honored to have been selected for this position. This community is very near and dear to my heart. I hope to give back even half of what it has given me since I joined as a local member and leader for the Omaha group in the summer of 2015. My goal is to help each chapter be its version of success. I intend to do this through the sharing of information or ideas, through listening to your concerns and trying to address them and providing inspiration to keep your motivation going

Please join me in saying thank you to Tobias, and congratulating our new member and officers!
