CUGC Women In Tech Mentoring Program – Class of 2018-19

by Esther Barthel, CTP, Women In Tech Lead Mentor

I’m happy to announce that the CUGC Women In Technology Mentoring Program, Class of 2018-19 has started! We were able to successfully pair all of our applicants with mentors that match their interests and goals. Introduction emails have been sent out and the first one-on-one mentoring conversations and goal-setting have already begun.

I’m also happy to announce that we have two new mentors joining the program this year:

Jane Cassell, CTA
Jane has over 25 years of IT experience, and is a Senior End User Computing, Mobile & Virtualization Specialist/Architect. She was also recently featured as the CUGC November Member of the Month.

Jeannine Watanabe
Jeannine brings over 20 years of IT experience to the program, and has served in the role of Director of IT since 2006.

I would also like to congratulate Kari Ludvigsen, one of the mentees from the 2016-2017 class, on her new job that allows her to focus on Citrix solutions in a more technical role. I’m proud of the goals she has reached and to see her actively contribute to the community as the VP of the Citrix User Group Norway and the CTP discussion panel moderator at E2EVC.

Because the mentorship program focuses on technical and overall career development goals, we aim to bring more professional development content into the program this year through webinars and virtual training. Thanks to our 2017-18 sponsors FSLogix and ControlUp, we were able to provide customized technical training to our mentees last year. Coming in December, ControlUp’s VP of Product Management, Ricky Trigalo, will host a professional development webinar for our current and former mentees. We’re excited about the growth of the program, and looking forward to more to come over the next few months.

We have exciting plans for the 2018-19 class of mentees, so stay tuned for more updates from the CUGC Women In Technology!
