CUGC’s 300th Meeting!

by Greg Tiber, CTA, Madison CUGC Leader

On Wednesday, February 28, 2018, the Madison CUGC hosted the 300th CUGC meeting. Since CUGC’s launch at Synergy 2015, our amazing community of sponsors, leaders, speakers & members have created a growing community with tons of great learning & sharing.

We met at the Great Dane Brewpub in Fitchburg.

Ivanti sponsored our meeting, and Chris Richey, Pre-Sales System Engineer, kicked things off with an overview of how Ivanti can help us with our environments. It was particularly interesting to see how they can make cache mode Outlook work in virtualized environments.

Our very own Joel Piper, Citrix Lead Sales Engineer (@ctxpipes) was up next, and gave a great recap of Citrix Summit. We also spent some time talking through the upcoming end of life dates for releases 6.5 – 7.14. We went very deep discussing migration strategies and other ways to get our old environments up to the current releases.

To wrap up our meeting, one of our members, Steve Noel (@steve_noel) shared his presentation on “How to be a Citrix Jedi.” This was packed with lots of information on how to get and stay connected to the Citrix community. Stay tuned to myCUGC.org for a blog from him on this topic very soon!

Madison CUGC members Jim Culliton & Roman Stolbov were the lucky door prize winners. Jim took home a $100 Amazon gift card & Roman was the happy winner of a pair of Beats headphones from our sponsor, Ivanti.

In addition to hosting the 300th meeting, Madison leaders Craig Harmel (@craig_harmel) & myself, Greg Tiber (@tibergreg) were recently awarded a 2017 CUGCY Award in the Local Group Awards category! Very special thanks to all the Madison CUGC members for making this possible!
