NetScaler CPX Express Released!

by Marius Sandbu, CTP, Norway CUGC

As we mentioned in our webinar (Recording here), we talked about the NetScaler CPX which is a containerized version of the NetScaler and can run as a container on a container host such as Ubuntu for instance. The CPX is a headless version of the NetScaler which means that it does not come with any form of UI, so in order to configure and setup load balancing you can either use the CLI or use the REST API. The CPX supports many of the features which are included in the VPX or MPX such as:

We also talked a bit about the different versions of the CPX where we have one licensed edition and one free edition. The NetScaler CPX Express is a developer version of CPX that is free and unlicensed.  It supports up to 20 Mbps and 250 SSL connections. CPX Express supports most of the feature set of CPX with the exception of TCP Optimization and L7 DDoS, but still allows you to test, and for instance load, balance applications directly using NITRO APIs.

Up until now, the CPX has only been available for those that have had access to a MyCitrix account, but now Citrix has made CPX Express available for all, and you can download it here for FREE –> http://microloadbalancer.com/

And if you want more information on how to get started with CPX on a Docker host you can read more information here –> https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/netscaler-cpx/11-1/install-netscaler-cpx.html
