The Users Have Spoken – CUGC is Off to a Great Start!

by CUGC HQ

This week at Citrix Synergy 2015, the new Citrix User Group Community (CUGC) was launched. Expectations were high, but we were blown away by the reception from the Citrix community. As soon as the Solutions Expo was open, a seemingly endless line sprang from our Synergy booth with attendees who were eager to join CUGC.

Over 2,400 people joined the community by the end of the first day, many of who spent time in the booth to find out more about CUGC and participating in local user groups across the world. “We had a fantastic kickoff to our CUGC launch,” said Chris Trost, president of the CUGC Steering Committee and lead technical architect at USAA. “The demand that we saw from the community shows that Citrix users have wanted this for a long time. We’re excited to see validation of the hard work that we’ve put in and look forward to building the best user group in the industry.”

Feedback on the site has already started pouring in. Users are excited about the focus on original, user-generated technical content as well as events and networking opportunities. “CUGC is awesome,” noted J.J. Zettle, a CUGC Steering Committee member and IT infrastructure manager at Starbucks. Kevin Keller, CUGC Steering Committee member and director of IT at FedEx Services, noted the “overwhelming embrace of CUGC.”

  1. […] CUGC started out with 2,400 members who signed up in JUST ONE DAY at Citrix Synergy 2015, and today we’ve grown to over 27,000 members with more than 80 local groups around the world! (Check out that first blog post here.) […]
